CityTV review : Popcorn Hour A-100
Gadget Guy: Popcorn Box
What was once Taboo, is now the norm. Everyone knows someone who downlaods movies or tv shows even if it isn't entirely legal. And now companies are coming out with gadgets to make the process a little easier.
Popcorn Hour is one such gadget. The device streams all of your audio/video files from yor computer directly to your TV. It supports almost every file type under the sun, which is why it is becoming so popular so quickly amongst avid downloaders.
The device has a lot of great features. Now only can you stream music, photos and videos, you can also browse You Tube clips and listen to podcasts and internet radio station from the comfort of your living room. But what really sets this box apart from the rest is the ability to download torrents directly to the unit without your computer even turned on. In fact Popcorn Hour will even seed your torrents for you. A huge plus for avid downloaders.
Although there are a lot of great features Popcorn Hour doesn't come with a lot of support. You will not get an instruction manual with it, rather a pamphlet to help you set it up. After that you're on your own. Be prepared to spend a lot of time online chatting with others users to set up the more advanced features. The remote could also use some work. It must be pointed "directly" at the IR sensor or it won't work at all.
Overall Popcorn Hour is a downloaders dream come true. If you're tech savvy and don't mind doing your research it's the perfect addition to any downloader's home theatre. Click here to watch the complete review video.
